Bakersfield didn't have a real hip-hop show on the calendar. I decided to put one there. I reached out to the Blu & Exile camp directly, negotiated contracts with the headliners and openers, secured the venue, handled accommodations, assembled the team, and ran the full promotional campaign across Meta, Snapchat, and Eventbrite. I creative directed all flyers, wrote every piece of copy, and built an email list for future shows. 140 people showed up on a Wednesday night, the day after Cinco de Mayo, to a room that felt well beyond its 200-person capacity. $3K in ticket sales. 55K Instagram impressions in 30 days.

A brand new 360-capacity music venue in Downtown Bakersfield needed an audience before it had one. As Marketing Manager, I wrote the website copy, produced social content and reels, oversaw videographers, photographers, and designers, managed giveaways, led partnership and sponsorship outreach, and handled sales. The room sold out.

The Basement was a brand new venue with no history to lean on, sitting beneath one of Downtown Bakersfield's most storied buildings. The challenge was building a distinct identity that could stand on its own while staying connected to the larger Woolworth's brand. I shaped the site architecture, led content strategy, and wrote all copy for a space that needed to feel like somewhere worth showing up to before a single show had been booked.

A National Register landmark in Downtown Bakersfield with 70 years of history was opening its doors to a new chapter. Before it could invite the public in, it needed a voice. I contributed to creative direction and strategy from the outset, developed the mission, vision, and values that now anchor the brand, and shaped the early site copy. The building has evolved since. The foundation is mine.
